SIGNS & SYMPTOMS
Prostate cancer often causes no symptoms in its early stages.
This is why knowing your risk and considering a PSA blood test can be important – even when you feel perfectly well.
➢ Symptoms can include:
- Needing to urinate more often, particularly at night
- Difficulty starting to urinate
- A weak or interrupted urine flow
- Feeling that the bladder has not completely emptied
- A sudden or urgent need to urinate
- Blood in the urine or semen
- Pain or discomfort when urinating
- Persistent pain in the back, hips or pelvis
Having one or more of these symptoms does not necessarily mean you have prostate cancer. They can be caused by other conditions. However, you should speak to your GP if you notice changes or have concerns.
Remember: prostate cancer can develop without causing any symptoms. Do not wait for symptoms before considering your risk.
